Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina

Boiling Spring Lakes is situated between Southport and Leland and was once known as Bouncing Log Spring.  The city derives its name from the boiling spring that flows with an incredibly pure stream of water, reportedly discharging approximately 43 million gallons of water daily. Flood waters from hurricane Florence destroyed the city’s dam, leaving behind empty lakes. Slowly and surely, the town is recovering and will eventually see its lakes back again.
